Pottstown kitchen renovation on a 200 year old home.

Main Line Kitchen Design’s Chris Rossetti recently completed an unusual kitchen project in a building that was originally the offices for a mining company in the 17th century?!

The challenges Chris had to design around in this 200 year old structure included lower height ceilings, and out of level floors and out of plumb walls. However, the rustic charm of the stone structure complimented the upscale Brighton custom cabinetry with pillowed doors. The Verde Peck Wilsonart engineered quartz countertops highlighted the colors found in the exposed stone walls as well as the accent paint color in the kitchen.

The rustic ceiling beams and the hardwood floors, along with the wicker bar stools and locally sourced lighting fixture all add to making this 200 year old Pottstown home renovation, a kitchen to remember.

Look closely at the finished kitchen for the subtle features that enhance the finished renovation.

  1. The distinctive subway tile backsplash has a geometric raised surface. This adds additional charm to a more standard backsplash. It is particularly visible under the light from the stainless steel hood.
  2. Higher end stainless steel appliances and a Thermador range go well with the stainless undermount sink, Top Knobs cabinet hardware, and faucet. The doweled plate rack cabinet helps tie together the contemporary aspects of this kitchen to the homes old world charm.
  3. This kitchen includes a number of conveniences that further enhance it including a base lazy Susan, a double trash can pull out, and a microwave drawer.
  4. The dishwasher is covered with a matching door panel to make the appliance more integrated.

I’m sure the proudest aspect of this renovation for the homeowners was that they coordinated the entire renovation. One of the homeowners and a good friend did the majority of the construction!

The finished pictures were taken at ane open house party to celebrate the finished job. Notice that the professional staging and delicious food prepared by the other half of this creative and detail oriented couple.

Everyone involved in this project was deservedly proud of the result. When homeowners truly work with qualified designers, the final kitchen turns out to be a space that is enjoyed every time someone enters!

Main Line Kitchen Design wishes everyone Happy Holidays and of course . . .

Bon Appetit!
